What is a machine show?

Technically, an apparatus using or applying mechanical power and having several parts, each with a definite function and together performing a particular task. But we think a machine is whatever you want it to be. We want to see your cool cars, trucks, boats, trikes, farm equipment and more!

Who is Uncle Rod?

Uncle Rod is Rodney Hammond, owner of Uncle Rod’s, Inc of Elk Rapids, MI. For 25 years Rod has been servicing the large and small engines of northern Michigan, as well as being a Top 100 U-Haul provider.

What is Do a Little Good?

Do a Little Good is a 501c3 serving all of northern Michigan. This amazing non-profit:

  • Wiped out school lunch debt in area schools, and maintains a surplus to make sure that debt stays out of our schools and kids stay fed.

  • Provides necessities for veterans transitioning from homelessness.

  • Stocks and maintains food and hygiene pantries in area schools.

  • Takes donated yarn and creates warm clothing items for the homeless.

  • Provides scholarships to graduating high school students.

How much does it cost to register?

Nothing! We want you to bring your machines and enjoy a great day with other enthusiasts.

How much does it cost to attend?

Nothing! Will we be accepting donations for Do a Little Good? You bet! But the event is free to attend so bring the family.

What will my kids do?

We have a super fun self-guided scavenger hunt for your kids to keep them engaged and let them participate in their own way.

Will there be food?

You bet! Restauranteur Jamie Wentworth (previous owner of The Local) will be creating some great food for you to enjoy.

Will there be trophies?

Absolutely! What's a chance to show off your machines without being able to win an award. We'll have several different trophy categories available, so pick the best and coolest of what you've got and register now to show it off.
